Preformed Line Products “Installation Challenge” During the 2019 International Lineman’s Rodeo
For the past several years, Preformed Line Products (PLP) has held product installation challenges in their outdoor booth at the International Lineman’s Rodeo, and this year was no different. This year PLP did a new challenge featuring the company’s very first product, Armor Rods. Armor Rods are designed to protect cable against bending, compression, abrasion, and flash-over. They are also used to repair damaged aluminum-based conductors and restore the conductors’ mechanical strength and conductivity. The challenge was to see how fast you can properly install Armor Rods, with the fastest time winning a Yeti Tundra Cooler.
The Winner: Nathan Stryker from Midwest Energy, Inc., with a time of 17.66 seconds.
